Hi guys,
Just wanted to know if any can tell me the correct way to remove and replace the center surround in a BF Falcon? It's my work car and I don't want to f**k it up r break something. Any help is appreciated. Cheers

pop off the gear shifter surround. Then screws start appearing, undo.

I have heard you should not tip the centre console very far as it apparently has a "rollover" feature, that stops it working if it goes over 90 degrees.... true, or rumour mill?

do not turn the icc over. It causes the cd mechanism and also the lcd screens (only sometimes) to fail... there is no switch to reset it

If you're talking about the centre fascia that houses the cd player and screen, then you will need to do the following (I did it all to paint the fascia):
remove the cup holder as this will save you damaging the surround of the gear selector. this can be done levering a flat head srew driver carefully underneath. remove the gear selector surround. this can be done levering a flat head srew driver carefully underneath. Under that you will see a few screws but only undo the ones that hold the plastic trim running up to the fascia (theres 2 - one holding each piece). remove the top piece above the fascia where the FPV models have the guage pod - this can be done levering a flat head srew driver carefully underneath. Once this is done, from memory, you have one hex head screw underneath the top piece and 2 - 4 hex head screws along the sides (1 0r 2 each side) - to get at the side ones you'll either need a screw driver with the socket head, or an extender for you socket wrench. Once these are all out, its a matter of levering carefully the entire fascia up/down and back/forth till it pops away from the back... Keep in mind I have assumed that you have unclipped all the plugs from the bottom of the ICC - this can be accessed through removing the tissue box compartment. once out, you will see its not such a straight forward task - I spent about half an hour carefully removing all the components from the back of the plastic and putting all components in order with relevant screws - if you break any components here, the car will not run so be careful. Then its a matter of putting all the components into the back of the new fascia and reversing all the above steps... The whole job, if you're careful and take you're time, will take about an hour or so, and is not too difficult, just need to take care... Hope this helps.
