I thought abs was standard on all the fords now.Ive got a 04 xls ute 6cyl and when i start up the abs light dont come on.Ive had a look and dont seem to think ive got it.Does anyone know if the utes were excluded.?thanks

According to www.redbook.com.au ABS was a option on the xls ute, so not standard.

Correct ... ABS is standard from XR6 upwards on the ute (same with A/C as well).

If you want it ... you need to opt for it from factory (not a dealer fit option.)

can also confirm that abs is not standard on utes up till XR6 - although i would have thought 99% of XLS utes would have been optioned with it. to confirm for sure, the ABS module is located near the firewall on the passenger side of the engine bay on BA's, and just behind the battery in AU's..

My AU XLS ute wasn't opted with it ... BUGGER.
Then again ... not sure if it was available with EGAS models either.
