pedder said i have a few worn parts on the suspension and that.
lower bushes, sway bar bushes. these hard to change? could a mate and i do it with a few jacks, ramps and axle stands? cheers

sway bar bushes are piece o pie to change. Lower bushes can be a little more challenging.
When we do em at work, we rip the arm out and then mount it in a vice and apply a bit of heat to brake the bond between the bush and arm. It then hits out pretty easy. But with out the oxy it will be a bit of hard work. Puttting in the new bush should be pretty easy. Most people will go for urethane which will be a two piece, so very easy to put back in. Just make sure you use plenty of grease on the crush tube and on the faces of the bush if urethane. CHeers |

would it be possible to use a vice, hammer, hacksaw to part it?
other then that, an aresol can and a light makes for a fun afternoon

yeah will be possible... though will be hard work. Maybe just rip em out and take em to a mechanic and get them to get them out

what about the whole lot. ive got a mate whos done hes preap in mechanics and he said he could do little bits of it but he hasn't done it in the real world

First things first, you DO NOT heat any suspension parts or axles. This changes the temper of steel used in its particular application.
With EF & EL front lower inner bushes, they are 3 piece. Just mount it in a vice with some alloy angle to stop marking/gouging the arms. The lips of the bush, strike it with a hammer & cold chiesel, evenly on both sides. They near fall out. In the centre of those end pieces, is a piece of pipe that hold the outer bush parts together. You will need to make a tool to keep them aligned to assemble them if you use genuine replacement parts. If you use polyurethane bushes, use Super-pro bushes, they don't turn to powder like the others. Previous experience, good old 20/20 hindsight never lets you down later.
