i have just noticed that my back bumper is sitting a bit funny and that it slops down one side, and when i noticed it last night i had an argument with my father inlaw i said its on wrong he said its on right, so is the bottom of the bumper supposed to go inbetween the car and the towbar or under neith the towbar on a na fairlane :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

got any pics? not sure what you mean by its position in relation to the tow bar.

but ea's/na's are known for having rear bumpers that sag.

The problem here is that there is a metal plate that rivets to the rh side of the bumper then rivets to the boot floor under the spare wheel well without this piece it will sag like yours has

why not have a look for the holes in the floor and the bar and tell me if im right. It might have a dodgy tow bar on it and this is why its not there but all falcons & fairlanes had this metal piece from ea until el not sure about the ba as I havent worked on one now I sit in my office. If Im not sure I will tell you

i just found the time to have a really good hard look and seen that the bottom was supposed to be above the towbar and it is missing the bar that holds it up as well

Happened to me, altho not quite as bad.

I figured it out that the plate had to be stuck back on, pop rivets work a treat.
