Today i changed my oil, motor has done 500km since rebuild,i didn't realise the oil catcher will only hold 6l's and the high energy pan we installed holds around 8l's,so as i let it drain for a while i came out to check how things were going only to find a huge puddle of oil on my driveway.i won't make that mistake again, suppose i'm not the first.

Thats not that embarressing mate. I changed the oil on my bike and did the same thing (walked away to let it drain) came back and started filling it up WITHOUT putting the drain plug in . If you don't learn from it tho....wellllllll Now when I used to drain oil from tractors overnight we used to leave the sump plug on the seat so if someone else got there first and went to start it they had to sit on the plug....no starting w/o oil
Isn't an oil spill a bastard to clean up? Little bit of oil makes a BIG mess!!!!

heh, I had an apprentice do both the above, changing the oil on a truck and under estimated the drain tin. oil from a***hole to breakfast time, he cleaned it up like a good little appy, then carried on with the oil change, only to realise that after he had poured the correct amount of oil in the engine there was a huge mess under the truck again, he forgot to put in the plug and had another mess to clean up and still had to finish the oil change before he went home
