There is that side of it too,If you must have one, this type would be the go Less chance of a leak, less to go wrong vik...IMHO...

they do leak after a period of time,
my dads FC LTD was a pain in the a***, it leaked probably cause the rails the glass was on bent a bit or the roof went out of shape a bit who knows. bit a little leak is ok cause they had a slide cover underneath the glass which was a tray to collect the water. it had a drain hole each corner which went down the pillars all good in theory but didn't work 100%. if one of the drain holes got clogged u had to jam something down there or use compressed air. we un clogged them many times over the years and always would happen again. after many years got a bit rusty up there which made it much worse. i can tell ya wasn't fun sitting in the back and accelerate and get dumped with water, or being in the front when the brakes were slammed on. in the end we just silicone'd the whole thing up. personally i would stay away from the old design if u really want an electric sunroof. |
