I got some red LED taillight globes from JayCar the other day. Anyways, went to fit them, and you push them in and turn, but the tops and bottom of the globes arn't held together properly, so when you turn (you can only grip and see the top as the bottom is in the socket), the top spins seperately to the bottom, breaking the wires inside that power the LED's! Very stupid design.

Unlikely, considering the bottom of the globe is fully in the socket, so the only option is to turn the top. All that's holding the two together is a small pin dent on each side. |

i pulled mine apart, ditched the middle top ring, soldered em back together, taped around the wires, long nose pliers to fit them into the socket and they work.

I worked at JAYCAR when those came out and had the same problem. I also had 4 pairs that were wired backwards. No-one could tell when i hit the brakes. I think the first few batches they bought into the country were faulty. I've also put a new set of them in my EB & my dads AU XR6 this morning with no problems, they work fine.

You talking about those bayonet fitting kinda things, how theres a socket, then 4 or so led's on? As an ex worker of jaycar, yes, whatever we sell, we usually get returned to us, the first thing to learn was processing refunds.
