Just a quick question,
Ive finally found an installation manual for my car alarm which used to be in the fairlane, and ive decided to fit it up to the new EL. I can work out most of the stuff, except....... it has a single wire output for the parking lights, which is fine. However, which wire do I hook it up to in the EL? Tim

does the wire start at 12v ang go to ground or does it start at ground and go to 12v, depending on which way it switches, will determine what side of the light you connect it to

From testing, if I tap into either left or right indicator, it lights up. What I need to know is which single wire will make them both light up at the same time (hazard wire I assume).

Easiest way is to get 2 6A diodes,
simple dodgey but works (many cheapo alarms have diodes inline with the park/indicator outputs)

exactly what he said - you buy 2 diodes.
If the alarm flash wire is outputting 12V+ as you indicated by testing it with the blinkers, you connect both anodes (positive side of each diode) to the alarm wire output, and the white striped cathode (negative) ends of the diodes are connected to a left and right side indicator each. This allows voltage to go from the alarm, thru both diodes, to both indicators, but stops one indicator from lighting up the other side when you use them as usual.

btw - as far as I know, here is no single wire to tap into unless you already had an alarm, unless the BEM has one for when IT flashes the lights.
Just tap into both indicator wires, which you have no doubt already found (Left and right)

oh sry i thought u meant parking lights i thought it was a bit weird just the hazard light output and get ur alarm to switch to ground then splice it into the loom after the switch (so on the lights side of it) then they will flash when u arm it

never been a fan of parking light flashes.... orange looks so much better! But on the EF it makes no diff, the orange tint has peeled off completely.
