What brand of extractors do you have? Are they 43mm inside the pipe?
Usually, the std Ford exh port on 3.9/4.0, is smaller than the OE gasket anyway, approx 2-3mm smaller all round. If you take it out that far, you may risk loosing some the ability to transfer heat away from the exh port surrounding. Its only a thought.

My exhaust ports are around 35mm. I dont see much point in going bigger.

When I did mine, I used the OE tin gasket as a template, scribed a line around, then centre popped it, so to make the line clean & clear. Then used a die-grinder with an alloy burr, an egg shaped one, then use a flapper wheel, 120 grit. Take your time and be patient. as the saying goes, " all good things come to those who wait".
Good luck.

reckon it would be of much benefit? i havent seen a Falcon head in ages, but i would have though match porting to the headers would be a bit of a waste unless you were going to do the whole port and drop in larger valves

You end up with not enough mating surface & it'll most likely cause exhaust leaks between the exhaust port & headers, if the header primaries start to warp.
