Well you gotta love RAC, had to get em to come and charge my battery up, and the dude looked at my thermo fan wireing (didn't ask him to) and decieded to give em a good yank and then tell me they were broken, basted!!

So now the prob is i have nothing to solder the wire too, the break is right next to the thermostat (i think) or whatever they spose to be connected to.

this aint good, as when i soldered them up succecfully i was driving to work on sunday, which was a good 38deg + eng temp and underbonnet temp the solder melted.

I am guessing there ain't much hope in fixin this myself (have done a patch up job, they work but i know it'll only last a week at best)

I don't think ford will help as they probly be scratin' there heads wonderin' how they got in there the first place.

Do i buy a new Ef/El thermostat (don't know if the EB one is in there or not)??

Stumped.....

Id suggest going to a wrecker, and trying to pick up the part that you have attached the wire to. If its just the thermo housing, it shouldnt cost too much.

They would be connected to a thermostat switch, yeah? i.e. switch that closes at given coolant temp... well if ya cant salvage a connection to solder onto then i guess get a new switch...

well it's just workin at the moment, i got a guy from ford to look at it when i was gettin some other junk, and recons its been made up buy someone and ford don't make the part. is pretty much been spliced off another two wires (which is working).

the part i need looks kinda like a Brass bold (20mmish) which has two metal studs commin off it.

its pretty much directly behind the intake if looking head on.
its the thing on the front right of the engine jsut before the fuel injectors, and it got a s**t load of gasket glue (ugly blue crap!)

what whould this part be called if i was askin' for it at supercheap or repco??
