I have a mild crossflow runnin straight LPG and want to put a thermo on it. Would a 16" unit be enough to cool my car? i planned on putting an automatic temp switch on it. any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks |

Does the shroud really make that much of a difference ?
My EA has a twin fan setup with no shroud and over-heats when the weather gets hot, i've replaced everything apart from the water pump to no avail and i'd love to know why, do u think it would be that i need a shroud ? |

im looking at a davis craig unit. dosnt appear to have a shroud in the traditional sense. has ayone used this unit and found temps to still be kept down?

davies craig suck balls.
If you were in wa i coiuld get ya a decent 16inch for half the price. see if you can get rid of the davies craig and buy an EF/EL/AU twin thermo fan setup. Much better. |

what about running a single 16" in the standard shroud? will this be enough to keep temps down?

As I said elsewhere Jase, second best option after clutchie and original shroud. Gaz (KLR250) had the datalog running on his megasquirt...showed temps and A/F ratios, etc, standard setup kept engine at better temps all the way...less fluctuation, better warm-up/idle temp, better cruise temp (fluctuation is the issue here), better performance all round. a cold running engine will die quicker than a hot running engine. save yerself $200 in the process

I honestly could`nt tell ya mate...but I believe it`s enough though, you will find certain restrictions in the cooling itself, such as an "fairly" unnecessary bypass thru the manifold on all XF, but most certainly on EST models. the water flow in these ones is only a s**t engineering ploy based on the EGR system, kept `em complianced `til the OHC engine came along.
You gotta keep the water flowing too, proper thermostat, good working heater tap, atc, green s**t in the radiator... Short ansew to your query: NFI... JAIKAI |
