Mate saw dust is an explosive in the right environment, as is flour, so my guess would be yes, given the correct conditions. Do some research on the fire triangle, and make sure you can remove one side for safety.
If you do some searching on spontaneous combustion it may help too, or by contacting SIMTARS. |

yeah..
it reminds me .. the old panel beater at work called me in one day to show me something... he had a ciggie lighter and a handfull of fresh bog dust.. he held up the hand of bog dust and let it pour outta his hand as he lit it up bout 20cm from the bottom of his hand... so from what ive seen.. yes it is. ( that stuff was anyway)

the filter in my vacuam cleaner dropped out and it sucked raw bog dust straight thru the guts of the electric motor. that would explain the 6ft flame coming out the discharge port and the pool of molten plastic when the whole unit burnt to the ground.
cheers

Yeah its because of the HUGE surface area available for combustion. Took a few blown up sawmills to figure that out (I kid you not!)

yup thats true... hasnt happened in aus but in teh us i believe but similar sutuation... grain dust (wheat dust) is fine prts of chaff and chaff.... well it lights fires good this mixed with oxygen and an ignition point BOOM like a bomb goin off.. hence why cbh sites are strict about smoking |
