Yeah, as per smoke's suggestion. Nice BIG breaker bar, fit the socket onto the bolt, rest the breaker bar on the chassis @ bottom of engine bay and momentarily hit the key to start.
Lol, dont let the engine start tho!!!

Dont forget to pull from the inner ring of the balancer... grab it from the outer and the balancer will just fall apart.
And as for getting it done back up, ive always just tightened it by hand using the breaker bar.

ok seems i have done alot more harm than good. i pulled the balancer off and it seems part of the bolt from the puller has broken off inside the crankshaft where the bolt goes in to hold the balancer. is there anyway to get it out or is this gonna be a big issue?

It will probably be an issue. I suggest you try get in there, you will have to take the radiator out and all that for extra room and try get it out.
Other wise if its a real short bit then you can try putting a washer or shortening the bolt but thats not good. They are a large bolt so you MAY be able to get in there with another bolt and a welder and weld another bolt on to it and undo it. Other wise its a new crank or new motor for you.
