Has anyone here had to change their door handle(outside)? Can a door handle from xf or earlier x series be used or are they different? Is the much involved with changing them? besides the obvious of taking the door card off.

i have done it on my XG many a times now, super cheap have them really cheap but the problem with the super cheap ones is that the hole u put the plastic clip into is on the wrong side so i drilled a new one and tried to put the plastic clip back in, yep u guessed it, i busted it good.
So be carefull, otherwise its a piss easy job!

I don`t think you can use XD-XF handles...XG was different to begin with...

IIRC I've read a post ages ago mentioning the latch assy for XG/XH is different due to the pull rod connection - XG/XH's use E series latches. Can't confirm that unfortunately.
Here's a similar thread: http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1724 One thing you can do is adjust the striker on the door pillar - mark the outside of the striker with a pencil (so the original position is marked), undo the 2 torx screws, adjust and tighten, experiment with it and see if it improves things. E series strikers will fit, so you can grab a couple off the rear doors (less wear), and try them. I've had my XH nearly 6 yrs, never had any hassle with the door handles.

Yep, XG/H are different to XF style...put `em side by side, youll see what I mean. there`s no need to modify anything, just buy an XH handle...make sure the hinges and bushes are in good shape and everything`s aligned...when will ppl quit saying "oh X is the same as Y", when they obviously don`t know...
