hi everyone happy new year.I need to know if anyone has successfuly re-covered their dash.I'm in Perth WA and we are quite isolated from the real world of hot rodding.I want to try this job myself and I have a spare car to experiment with(EA & EB) I'm re-building the EB and using the EA for body panels to avoid having bits lying around and getting dented.
Would be grateful for any advise.

Havent done it myself, there are a few places around melb that do that sort of thing and I imagine that perth is no different, may a drive into down for this one?

If I were doing it myself my only consern would be the glue (or whatever) becomming dodgy after a hot day in the cab and the material lifting, food for thought, other than that I'd have thought it'd be pretty a easy one, hardest part would be getting the dash off and back on.

I've done mine, but mines an EF, which has a smoother dash then the ED, the pocket on the passenger side would make it a little trickier.

mikgan and rushed, thanks for your input.I am actually re-covering the dash with new material (could be leather)or something that will withstand the heat.I am not looking forward to doing this job but will let you know how it turns out.
Unfortunately for me I am one of these people who takes on these crappy jobs just because it's in my face every time I drive the car and it's p***ing me off looking at it.

A while ago I was going to build my own dash, wierd I know, but I found sooo much info through google, I reckon with a good searching session you'd be close to getting a step by step guide for something like this.

as EFFalcon said it'd be tricky over the dash shelf, i've thought of doing this to and i came up with the idea of filling the shelf over, possibly with body filler, this will smooth it all out and make it easier to re trim.

other wise use vinyl dye to change the colour of it.
