What other box would fit benind me Clevo, the borgie single rail Walker flogged me turned out to be a dud unfornately

Top loaders are too dear,so are T5's,the wreckers here want $2500.00,and fitting it to the XY is full of head fcuks I dont need

What about 5 speed boxes out of XF,EA,EB,would need to change bell housing and clutch set up???

Or should I get the borgie single rail fixed

The one in the car now dont go into reverse as easy as the first one did,but the changes are real notchie, not a pleasure to drive :x :x :x

vik...just about have to stop to get it into first...

s**t eh, i over charged you on that LOL.

Either way it's going to cost you, those T5's are pretty weak, by the time you buy everything you need you're better off buying a top loader.

Vik... at least you only need the box and shifter going that way.

super T10 or a Muncie are other options.

why not try a W5# supra box they're a dime'a'doz (can be sourced for less than $200)

the W58 is the nicest box and has a metal sandwich plate and can cope 230+ hp

the good thing about them is if you kill it.... replace it with a second handy.
BUT they're a b**ch as you have to drop the bell and box together. so it takes a little longer if you like taking things the easy way.

Yeah, that they do.

A good after market shifter helps, i used to run a Hurst Indy shifter on mine, after trying XR GT, XA and also XB GT, the Hurst was heaven.

If you want to try another bw single rail, the old man has a supposedly rebuilt one sitting in our garage that he mentioned he wanted to get rid of.
If your interested let me know.

Supra are good, but they have a pretty low 1st gear so keep a decent highway ratio in the rear.
Also if you get one i suggest throwing a bearing kit through it, they're well known to spit the front bearing, and when they do it goes straight back into 4th (4th from memory) gear and it's good night box.
Also from memory the Supra has 9 bolts which bolt the bell housing to the box, the Celica has 4 or 6, can't remember exactly.

I've got a single rail here that came out of an XD, the only thing wrong with it is the gear stick is snapped, it was in his hand when he ran up the a*** of a car lol.
If you want to organise freight i'll give it to you cheap, you just need to get a V8 housing.

Toploaders are not expensive when you consider that compared to all those other boxes mentioned they are stronger. Use a Hurst competition plus with tubular chrome moly shift rods and you'll have no problems with shifting, otherwise use the shifter from Long engineering.
