Part of the paint job on my EL is a slightly lighter shade of metallic blue than the rest. It's more noticeable in overcast weather. Any ideas on whether anything can be done (eg. cut and polish etc), other than a respray. Nothing overly major and something most people would hardly pick, but when it is your own car...

(A pic doesn't show the difference...)

Just a few panels. One of the panels shows the 2 different shades. Obviously the painter didn't blend the two shades together properly - or didn't notice it himself

By the sound of it they havent spent enough time coulor matching it.I would be talking back and asking for it to be done again if it was an insurance job advise the ins company and give the shop a chance to fix it if they dont or dont do it properly advise the ins co and take it somewhere who will fix it.A lot of colours are hard to match but thats no excuse as we charge out time to match the colour sometimes if a car has been painted a few times at different stages a colour might look good to one part{eg guard-bonnet}and not to another{frt door-back door}because the bonnet and rear door were painted at different times by different people and matched in different light or even different brands of paint. Not making excuses for them but if you payed {or ins co payed}for a good job thats what you should get.
