prob i got is when sitting on 100ks the auto seems to be shifting bak and foward evry 20 secons with in 400 rpm seems to do this when its cooler weather any idias why its doin this its got plenty fluid its got a seprate cooler and shift kited its been doin this for bout 3 weeks now and its starting to s**t me coz i cant find the prob dam 4 speed autos :?:

Run the diagnostics and look for the Auto fault codes. The most likely suspect in this case is the selector switch on the side of the box, it should show up if it is at fault.

do i have to take it to ford to get the diagnostics hooked up to find the code or is there another way of doing it

You can do it yourself if you have an analog meter or a 12v LED. The procedure and the fault codes are in the tech doc section.

Not sure there is any value in resetting the ecu but if you must then 30 minutes without the battery connected will do the trick.

You should at least get some codes even the 111 code if every thing is OK....
