I have a knocking noise on my left front. It happens wen i go ova bumps or into my driveway. Its like there is slack in the suspension... i have just checked the link pin and its all good. And just checked the service history and the shocks and bushes were replace in the 08/05. Wat else could it be?

Just trying to scope wat im looking at here... Is it the lower control arm that the Link pin is connected to? Cause if it is there is a rubber where it is connected to the wheel hub and that rubber is rooted... Could that be it?

Could be lower ball joint, tie rod end or rack end to name a few. I would go for the rack end or tie rod end. Have pedders do a check to make it easier working out what the problem is.

Thanks mate... i did give up looking at something i know nothing about... was hoping there was something obvious but there is no sign of external damage on ne components... Im booking it in to get checked on monday.

well it not them... all visible bushes are not cracked... hopefully its the shock...

If you're checking everything yourself, you need to in addition to a visual, put some force on bushes, ball joints, etc, to see whether they have some slack - best way is with a pinchbar. Some components may look okay, but don't give any indication until force is applied.
Since you say shocks/some bushes have been replaced, try the upper suspension unit mounting bolts (x3) and the upper shock mounting nut - all are in the engine bay - they may be loose. Front swaybar 'D' bushes can be checked too.

Front swaybar 'D' bushes can be checked too. Good info... I checked to shock tower nuts they good. I said to myself im gonna start doin my own work but im at a end with this so ill leave it to pro's. And after all it is an important safety component best left to pro's.

When mine did this it was the upper control arem bushes. They are not visible. The upper control arm is the top suspension frame that looks like an A. The shock/spring goes through the middle of it.
The way to ckeck them is to jack up the car and take the wheel off the offending corner. Use a long screw driver or bar and try and lever the strut, using the shock as the pivot. The top of mine, where the upper ball joint attaches, moved froward and rear about 1". Bad. A camber castor kit fixed all that, and if you find this is the case do both sides.

Just got shims installed wen i got my alignment 2 days ago. Ne way ill take it to some1 to have a look at.

ok just got a quote and they said the left hand side suspension is ok but the right hand wheel bearing is shot. Now i dont know if having the right hand wheel bearing rooted would affect the alignment of the left wen turning or im just hearing it wrong... any ideas?
