hey all .. after my problem with the eb i have decided to see if it is possible to put a au xr6 or just a 6cyl or a ba xr 6 motor into an eb ... i know i will have o massive prob in regards to the fact that ba motors are electronic not cable accel i want the ba motor in there but if not well the au will do ... i have seen something about this before but not sure if it is what im asking but i cant find it ... what will need to do ... i was told that the au will bolt up in the engine bay but all the plugs are diff ... and the ba motor .. well that could be alot harder then i think ... i rekon it will go good IF i can get it in there ... what will i need to do ???? cheers all

Why not save yourself the hassel and just buy a BA?? They're going pretty cheap now days - and while I understand that it would be a pretty cool mod - Barra engine in the EB, but seriously the expense would set you back close to what a 2nd hander BA is worth... If you think about it a reco EB engine would be close to $4k installed - you'd probably pay close to that for a BA motor, then getting someone willing to do it (unless you're handy with the wrenches and have more tolerance and patience than me)- labour cost could be close to the same as the engine if not more... I'm only guessing though. I've seen a quite a few BA's going between $8k and $12k pending on condition...
But its up to you - Engine mounts would more than likely need looking at, electronics, pretty much most things associated with the car actually running... But have no idea on process or what would actually need to be upgraded.

i thought it would be a s**t job but i have both a ba 6 cyl and an xr6 au motor at the old mans mech shop ... and he is going to throw them out .. so i was thinking what would be easier and what would be better in power and fuel econ
