That does not sound good. I replaced mine when I wore the crank instead of the thrust bearing surface but I caught mine before the timing chain appeared out the front of the cover.

No , if you are working it then it wll pay in the long run. Use your old sump and get the endcaps machined so it fits. That way you can use your bell housing and no mods to the K frame.

yeah, and then an AU alt and bracket. all of whcih just adds to the cost of something i wanna get running asap. I'll be trying to use an EF block. quick and easy.

I have just bought an EF engine purely for the head and the crank as donor parts to do a hi-po rebuild of my SVO motor.
Alternatively i would also just let you take the entire bottom end AS IS as a trade for your stuffed engine (with a cash adjustment) as i plan on a regrind/balance of the crank anyway. If that is of any use to you feel free to call me on 0417507875 to discuss. Aaron
