ai was talking to one of my mates at work today about a brake upgrade for my el and he told me that there used to be a kit around that would let you bolt up a set of twin piston vt commo calipers on the front
has anyone ever heard of this
can it even be done
it would be a cheap upgrade for the falcons s**t stock brakes

a lot of the aftermarket conversions use the VT twin spot calipers.
the calipers themselves are almost identical to the AU twinspot ones, only the pads are slightly different.
My friend realised this when his "VT disc conversion" on his Mk1 escort needed new pads.

To fit them to an e-series is a bit of work. Wouldn't be much dearer or difficult to do the 330 mm upgrade IMO

In comparison the Cebco 330mm kits is $2500, so that setup above is a nice middle of the road package.

I recieved an email from cebco for an upgrade for my eb and they quoted,
4- piston front ap racing calipers on 2-piece 330mm front disc $4000[front only]
6 piston 380mm discs $5200

AU II spindles won't fit, the B/J's are in the arms, where as the E series were in the spindles. and the off set is different too.
I don't know of a cheap big brake set up for E's.
My brakes work fine.

If you want AUII brakes you need to swap the WHOLE front end, spindles, suspension, sub frame, everything. And you will still need to modify it to fit.
