Gday,
Does anyone make a low blow/underbonnet supercharger kit for the 351C? Iv seen the Weiand 671 kit but...even though it looks tuff...due to attn from certain groups, it would be better to keep everything hidden. Thanks

BnM had low blow kits for clevo's and windsors but they went out of production 10 years ago. Good luck trying to find one though.

A centrifugal supercharger can be used in a blow thru set up. Seen a Dodge truck at the drags running a vortech supercharger in a blow thru set up. It was running a Wedge 440 under it. Ran 12.73, not bad for a 2 tonne truck

Im not completely up to date on all the terms but I take it "Blow thru" means simply pressurised air fed straight into the intake. Does the vortech unit bolt onto the side of the engine and is plumbed to the intake or does it bolt ontop with its own manifold?

A vortech is mounted of to the side.

"blow through" is a term only relating to carby systems, it means you have the pump blowing through the carby into the manifold, the other term is draw through, meaning you have your carby before the pump, which then pumps to the manifold

Basically its mounting the supercharger on the side then the piping goes through to the carb via a carb hat. The carby must be boost referenced. Wont have stump pulling torque that a 6/71 or a low blow can provide right down low but will give a mid to higher end kick in the pants.

I would like to correct you on blow through and suck through suystems as they also apply to injected cars. SAE cars are forced to run suck through setups and a pissy little restrictor. Really makes you think as when you snap the throttle shut the turbo actually accelerates for a short while. |

Ok then, that seems pretty straight forward. Whats the go with boost referencing? The way I understand how carbies work doesnt really allow for a dramatic change in air pressure. Do carbed blow thru setups meter properly all the way thru the boost/rev range or is it a compromise at best?
