When I take the key out of the ignition of my EL, it appears to be hot. Am I imaging this or is it possible? Waddayareckern?

sunlight shining directly from above and onto the outer edge of the key barrel??? just a guess...

this happens all the time. when you leave your car in the heat the inside of it will heat up, as will you ignition barrel, when you insert a key it transfers to the key. like wise on a cold day the key will be quite cool when removed
