K this has happened a couple of times before, but now its happening more regulary. I start my car (cold) and have no power, if i floor it she struggles to get to 2500 rpm then wont pass it, but if i pull over turn her off then start her again its all good. Should i be worried, She is due for a service. Ive searched this and know to say that the oil doesn't look milky.

Ugh, my mothers car does that sometimes, but only when I accidentally put it into neutral, then rev as I think it's D, not used to it
It's like its going into limp home or something? Restart the car and its fine. |

well for starters the cars in open loop mode so the ecu's guessing the AF ratio. and the tolerences on the internals are still changing, so doing that is very bad till it gets to about 80 degrees.
the car will have optium performance at temp. what did you expect?

( 3rd gear only ) hence no power untill you switch off the car and then turn it back on. Quote: on the freeway doin 100 and she woz at 3500rpm, pulled straight over turned off and on problem gone.
100@3500rpm seem like the trans is in 3rd gear. Once again, the trans could be in limp home mode which could explain why when you switch the car off then back on again all it normal. Bucko

I have had to drive my car in limp home mode, 2500 rpm is about where the auto sits when it's trying to accelerate. If it sounds/feels like the car is really working hard to get you rolling from a standing start, but feels perky at 60km/h+ then that's a pretty solid sign that it's only using 3rd gear. You could test this further by getting the car up to 60 or so and then putting the gear selector back to 2nd. Car won't change gears like that in limp home mode.

I'm pretty sure it's the trans, I thought it always was.
The car will rev hard to 6, really fast. But will barely accelerate. My BA's rev's go up slowly but speed goes up fast. |
