Hey I've been having some problems with my cruise control. It turns on but it doesn't engage all the time, only half the time it does and otherwise the buttons just do nothing no matter how much I press it.
My dad said it might be because I used Armour All which is an insulator and could have stuffed up the connections a bit, as this is what happened with his mates radio buttons. He suggested RP7 over night to try fix it, but how do I remove my cruise control buttons of the steering wheel? Has anyone had similar cruise control problems? |

yes, ive simiair problems... -just that mine NEVER engages.. on the sides of the plastic shroud surrounding the back of the steering wheel (behind the air bag) is two plastic lugs that house a 10 mm bolt that holds the airbag in.. (remember to disconnect battery or 10 mins before you disconnect the airbag).. after you lift the air bag out you will have easy access to the cruise buttons... Two phillip head screws hold the buttons in each..

RP7s just like WD40. Give it a try fairmont 599 my dad always has these crazy ideas, but they work. I guess hes been doing electronics for like over 30 years but sometimes i still think theyre gonna stuff up more but they actually work! lol I didnt even end up taking the cruise buttons off, just sprayed inside the buttons.

So no one still knows what a clicking noise, when pressing +, from where the cruise module is in the engine bay, means?
Actually more like a clunk, just one clunk per click of the + button. Click click click, clunk clunk clunk. Any ideas?
