i have seen that some people have a custom intake snorkel/piping sucking air from the right side foglight vent. is this very effective and does it suck up water in the rain?

ive got mine sucking through a 3" mandrel bent pipe from the throttle body to the K&N pod. then the standard snorkel feeding the pod and a 2.5" hose from the bottom right vent to the pod. surrounded the pod with heatshields. you can notice a big difference compared to stock. so far it hasnt sucked up rain, i was scared that it might but it works fine.

how long can you hold your hand on the mandrel bent pipe after a decent drive ?
is it ally or stainless ?

done the same thing, i didnt notice much with a pannel filter but more noise with a pod.
its a good cheap mod but dont expect big amounts of power.

I modified my intake to the airbox, I got the big tickford snorkel, had an original(small) snorkel cut the head and base off it, cut an oval hole in the tickford snorkel just behind the mouth and plastic welded it on, cut a hole next to existing one in the bottom of the airbox and plastic welded it in place. Just an experiment to see it twin snorkel tubes would do anything.
Blast compressed air in the mouth and it seems to have plenty of air coming from both pipes.
Theres a pic of it in my gallery, may be a bit hard to see.
