So you took it to a hospital to the Renal unit and hooked it up to a dyalasis machine to see whats wrong?

Just jokin

It a diagnostic machine/unit.
The coil could be at fault there. The unit won't tell you that, if its leaking spark. or the dizzy cap brush is burnt out.

if the cat was blocked, it'd more than likely run like a bucket of snot at all RPM's

If the cat has problems, it just has a reduced max air flow. So at lower engine speeds, less air flowing through it, it could appear to be mostly normal. Once you start trying to move more air than you can get through it you will find the motor unwilling to rev higher.

cats can take a long time to break down to a state of 'bucket of snot'
driving the same route to work 350 days a year gives me a chance to compare how my cars going as to how it used to.
my cfi was loosing around 5kw a week i reckon untill one day it just ran like a busted @ss ring & wouldn't rev over 2500 revs.
just my 2c.
also i'm pretty sure no falcon with 260,000 kays would ever go as good as it used to without a rebuild.

i just come back from parts plus and they installed a new cat and it is running alot better.
i asked them what it may be and he said it has happened to him before.
He also said that if you thrash your car every now an then that you get the early signs of it.
it isnt running like new but now i can finally spin the wheels of the mark

i talked to one guy i know and his ed was $800 just for the head gasket.

$600 would probably get you enough for the mechanics time to pull it out and put it back in plus fluids or something. then you've got parts cleaning, finishing, gasket kits, tensile bolts, rings and the other crap that might be broken.

$600 would get you the parts for most of a mild turbo setup i would think. slap them on with some bent pipe and bobs your uncle
