hi guys and girls just wondering if i can get some advice
i have a xf ute that revs quite high roughly 2200rpm at 80km/h and over 3000 at 100 i have jacked up the rear end and put it in drive and the drivers wheel after getting up some speed when it slows down it stops and statrs to go backwards even when the speedo still reads 30km/h it is a drum brake rear end no lsd any advice would be greatly appriciated

its a single spinner, guessing its sending the power to the wheel with the less resistance.

is it a 3 speed auto? if it is 3000rpm at 100 is probably about right.

is my diff stuffed or is it something else eg gear box (auto)

Is it auto? if its a manual, then it would have 3.50:1 diff gears.
If its auto, it may not be changing into drive, or it slips a lot.
A lot of XF utes at that time had 2.77 or 3.23 diff ratios.

it changes into all the gears but does so very fast on a n average take off it will go into third b4 40-50 kph then the revs just keep getting higher and when i take my foot off the accelarator it slows its self down quickley

Sounds like the kick down cable might be broken, and theres some slipping as well. When the cable is broken, it changes up gears quickly.
