Can someone who knows please tell me if the diff center from a sedan will fit into a wagon rear end and are axle shafts swapable. I can get an EA Fairmont Ghia backend with LSD and want to fit to my EA II Wagon. Dont know what ratios or splines the 2 have so want to be sure I can swap things around to do the job.
Thanks in advance. Chris |

Short answer is yes provided you have the tools or can make them, you will need to be carefull to keep the spacers together with the center and on their correct side.
Swap over the center and leave out the pinion and check the centre preload is within spec and then remove it. Then install the pinion and check its preload. Finally reinstall the center and check backlash.

I think both diff's would be 3.23 if they both come from auto's and should then both be 25 spline. EBII is when they changed to 28 spline and 3.27 ratio.

EA's got a mix of 28 and 25 spline depending on model and gearbox AFAIK. From EBII onwards they were all 28 spline.
