ok had a quizz at my LPG tank today.
I am assuming that this is the valve. also, just in case here are some other pics of my set up I just plan on closing the valve and then running my car until it stalls. I would like to have a crack at removing the mixer and converter myself so i can learn a bit more on LPG. Yes i can appreciate that it is dangerous s**t if its not treated with respect

It would be illegal because of the danger. It will sink (heavier than air) & dissapate. Removing the gas is also unnecessary. When dad removed the system from his old ute it still had half a tank. Sat in the tank for a few years til it was put in Mum's car. Having said that, if you don't know what you are doing, you shouldn't be doing any of it. well thats what the mechanic told me maybe its illegal and harmful if you let it out in water...

from those pics, it doesn't look like you even HAVE a manual shutoff valve.
Not one that can be turned by hand anyway.

I can tighten it all the way up or i can loosen the knob off quite a lot. Which way is off? The tank is a CEM, BTW

why not jsut drive until empty? I think you are, what is driving around until empty going to achive?? I want to remove the LPG!! So it makes sweet FA difference to wheather tank is full or empty with use of the service valve also the car is not registered and is on straight LPG and i don't entertain the idea of running out of gas in the middle of no-where
