hey guys ... just wondering i have an ef 110 amp alternator at home and due to running 2 1000 watt amps 2 12 subs , dvd player plus thermo fans i was wondering if i can change the belt set up and put the ef turpintine set on it ... because at nite everything disco's when the headlights dvd player and thermos are on and i dont want to get stuck out in the middle of no where with a flat battery cause of the alternator crapped itself ... is it possible .. ???? or does anyone have suggestions ... cheers :D :D

yes you can but you will have to change all the other accesories. a/con, w/pump pulley and get a tensioner from an ef/l and the balancer

Serpentine... not turpentine :)

Pretty sure this one has been done many a time. By the sounds of it, you've already ditched the clutch fan??

Just change the pulley on the alternator and it will fit the 3 belt setup.

Much easier job.

If not you need to run all the other accessories and buy a XH tensioner if you are still running the BBM.

yea it siezed the other day no i just want to save the alternator .... big diff with fuel eco and take off ... still smells like unburnt fuel tho :(

have tried to take the nut of the end of the alt but it wont come off ... :( is it relativly easy to change from std to ef ???

You need a rattle gun. I got mine from the wrecker and he was like you just change the pulley. 2 bent allen keys later I took it back and got them to do it. Took them 2 seconds.

Maybe run down to a mechanic. They wouldnt charge you I wouldnt think.

sad thing is my old man owns an auto shop ... that my friends isz really sad ... why the heck didnt i think of that ... incase noone has noticed i do things the hard way..

have spoken to the old man about this mods and because he is a hard core ford fan and has the theory of " there's none so great then a thumpin' v8 " my little i6 is something he dont care about .. *throws the nearest spanner and ian and yells " dam you dad " * ok i feel better ... will go there now and do it ... cheers dude ..

now i feel like a numb nut .. :( :cry: :!: :?:

Doesn't the ECU run the show for the EF alternator?
If you still have a log inlet manifold on the EB, the EF/EL fan belt set up won't fit, you'll need the belt set up from an XH ute.
