on Australia day, my EF GLi was stalling many times, and the temperature was increasing during the day ( due to stop/start traffic). First instance it stopped p****d out some coolant and i kicked it over and it was on its way. The third time it did this, it would nto kick over; but temperature was never out of the [NORMAL] range ( albeit in the upper reaches at one stage. anyway nwo it wont kick over, just make this clicking noise . its not the battery and it swallowed two buckets of water! any ideas what it could be? coz I am severely hoping it hasnt locked up!

Pull your spark plugs out and crank it over. if water comes out your head gasket is rooted.

so it dumped out a whole lot of water then you just drove off???

the temp guage doesnt work too good when there is no water to read off.

my guess is your cylinder/s are full of water.

Vote for hydralocked.
One or more cylinders is full of water due to a leaking headgasket.

could also be starter motor solinoid not kicking the gear out .. hit the top of the starter motor if you can ... due to stop starting and the car stalling all the time and you having t restart the car the starter motor could have burnt out hence only clicking ...

Yes the click-click is able to be connected with the starter motor solenoid.

It will only click and not crank if a cyl is full of water. check this first or you could do more damage than just the head.

definatly pull all your spark plugs out and see if it will crank. if it does and pumps water out time to pull the head off

sounds like hydrolic lock to me, thats what a falcon did at work when she sat with a blow head gasket for 2 days.
