i was told that if i open the keyless entery remote, solder a short wire to the antenna, wrap the wire in a circle, close the case, then this it will increase the range of the remote... any one tried this? would it work?

I assume so, given that RF signals are often transmitted using a coil in compact situations... the range on mine is s**t all so maybe ill give it a shot

nah mate didnt work for me either, maybe the actual transmitter isn't powerful enough to drive an antenna larger than the one thats already in there...but i agree with 2m being nowhere near enough range...

(i saw a site where it said, opens 10 meters away, prob little Exaggeration). so if urs aint working from 5 meters away, more or less than u might have a problem, easy to say as some people have said batteries, but it could be something else. not so sure on cars smartlock etc, but my car is an el, so MIGHT (prob not) be different on other models. |
