I bought a ECU for cheap and I've been told by someone at ford he thinks its out of the EL GT, Can anyone confirm this for me?

What is the 4 character code on it? would start with a 6, so 6 _ _ _?

Thats an EL Fairmont Ghia ECU.

Ifs its got 60 pins its an I6 ECU, not a V8.

Actually yep, makes sense, I don't even know why I bothered to ask, I should have just told the ford guy he was wrong. I wasn't thinking. Theres no way a GT ecu would fit into a fairmont.

Also since it's been in I haven't been able to get rid of the spanner on the display saying it needs a service, is there some other way I can get rid of it?

turn the car on to accessories or on position i cant remember and then hold the odo button done for 10secs.

Yep, that's great thanx. The manual says to press the reset button on the trip computer and it used to work, I don't know why I now have to hold in the odometer button.
