sorry i couldnt help you out the other day, i went away for the weekend and ended up staying a little longer than planned. hope it is all working out, should almost be on the road by now. Let me know if there is anything else i can get for you or help with.

I used a smear of RTV blue on the rocker cover in the 'loose' areas - when it slightly set it held the gasket on perfectly, particularly around the rear area.

Lads, is it an issue if a exhaust bolt refuses to go into the head? Just one bolt, bottom row, 3rd from the left.

It may cause a small exhaust leak. Be careful trying to do them up, remember you are only threading into an alloy head. Best way is to do them all up by hand only then tighten them evenly.

it will cause a small exhaust leak. I remember when i took the heat shield off my exhaust for the first time and ran it missing the two bolts, it made a noticable effect on idle quality.
