I am thinking of doing a complete engine rebuild on a 3.9i on my ea. I have a some knowledge on mechanics , i was wondering if there are any manuals that i can get that will assist me in doing this?? I already have the gregory's one but it doesn't really go into detail about it..Any suggestions would be appreciated

Some of the machining specs are available from the parts suppliers (such as ACL). Or just drop in to your local engine machinist. They're not a complicated engine!

what do you want to achieve from the rebuild? more performance or just a re-fresh?

Might be worth just a freshen up with new rings. If your bore shows signs of wear you could hone it to the stock 4.0 size. I have some ACL hyperutectic pistons on EF rods that would be perfect for that scenario.

You're looking for a workshop manual right?
Might be able to scrounge one up from eBay.

I just want to re-fresh the engine take the whole thing apart clean it up, and put it back together but need a manual of some sort that can guide me through it that has torque setting etc etc etc, as i have never done this before i want to learn. As there is no time frame i can go at a leisurely pace.
