Would an ED motor bolts straight up to a 5spd XF ute? (bolt up to engine mounts and to gearbox)
As in would I be able to stick an ED motor in an XF 5spd ute without welding up my owns mounts or cutting anything?

Use only XG mountings, but the front radiator panels are different to the XG, both top & bottom. I think the 4.0 is longer than the old 4.1/3.3.

Nope, XG mounts are the same as ED, so just use the ones on the engine.
and no it wont bolt to the XF's gearbox, they have different bellhousing patterns. If its a t5 then you could get an e-series bellhousing and make it fit. There are some other things that dont match up. You will need the radiator and hoses from the ED as the XF one is backwards. You might also have issues with the swapbar hitting the sump. The alternator may also hit the k-frame (some do, some dont)

and there is also the issue of getting the ecu running the motor...
if your xf is carby, then worrying about if it will bolt up, could end up being the least of your problems.... surely this sorta conversion has been covered before on this x series thread?
