I suspected that to be the case. I was sold bars that allegedly came from an ED XR6,but seem to be the same size as my stock ones.

EB-EF = 26mm front, not sure on rear, 21mm IIRC
EB-EF XR = 27mm front, rear again, not sure, 22mm? EL = 27mm front, ?22mm? rear EL XR = ? No idea, same as non-XR EL perhaps. Never measured them. EL GT = 28mm front, rear unknown. EL's also have different "D" bushes to fit different brackets (instead of flat surface where bush ridges hold outside of bracket, EL brackets have ridges that grab the bushes ridge... hard to explain without a pic ) The links themselves are also beefier on ELs.

Thanks for all your help guys.I fitted new slotted discs, pads ,bearings, braided lines, and nolathane through the front end,and found my standard sway bar was already 27mm,so it would seem that there was no difference to XR series?

What did the braided lines do to pedal feel,I fitted some to my XY,very good pedal feel now. A bloke in the brake trade told me they were a waste of time on the road ,dont know what he was on,but glad I didn't listen to him I got DBA gold drilled and slotted with performax pads, had them on a year befor the braided lines,so I could tell what a differnce the braided made on their own.Should be your first mod to a car,can never have good enough brakes. |

I will do the rear next weekend,so will have a better feel.I went with slotted, and Bendix advance.I think the braids make for a better pedal feel.Certainly improve braking.

Get an XH Sway bar - XH and EL GT are the same size - round the $50 $60 mark

The XH one will fit on EA upwards, because I had one on it till I replaced it with a 32mm (adjustable) unit. The first model with beefier outer link kits was the EF. The EB, ED XR6 , were still small & had green coloured P'urethane outer link bushes instead of rubber. AU rear sway bar ( on live axle ) had 23mm hollow pipe.
