Hi I have a friend that has just brought an injection molder and is looking for idea’s of products to make so if any one has any idea’s of products that you think could be better designed or made simpler and cheaper (e.g. gauge pods for falcons or commodores) we know that there are some out already but some are over priced and others are just not up to par. let me know and if we get some interest we can start looking at making things.
We are interested in any idea’s be they for cars or other. Cheers jono.

replica ED XR front ends, some actual nice looking scoops. V8 Supercar EA and EB/D kits as they are rare as all hell.
maybe some replica XR rear lips from EB/ED maybe make up some EF/EL rear lips. like the ED ones |

its nice to have an injection moulder.
but... to make the die, especially if its the length of a boot lip, is going to cost thousands just in steel (this would definately be out of your scope). not to mention all the parts you need to have in it, ejector pins, guide pilars, slides, lifters and plenty more! then there is the designing, 3d modelling, nc programming, and all the machining, turning, polishing, fitting, etc. hundreds of hours of work. a die the size of a shoe box will mould for you something the size of a door handle, cost you at least 5k if its a simple open and shut tool. any fancy undercuts, sliding or clipping arrangements(which most automotive parts have), then times that amount by 3 or 4! you would have to sell hundreds if not thousands to make it worth while. but if you have thought about it and have a plan, ill design the tool for ya!

For it to be a viable process your gonna have to have a secure order somewhere in the thousands, or your gonna be looking at a huge loss, and in turn expect the customers to wait while you set up. Neat Idea, but I dont see how it can be viable. Your better off using the Injection moulder to manufacture bottle caps for a larger company and build your finances up.
