Yeah fair enuf then, but in most cases such as comparing the EF XR6 and the EF XR8 the added weight of the XR8 did not really help the fact that the Xr6 was just about the same in kw only about 2 less i believe. And weighed much less.

Ofcourse the Torque was more in the favor of the XR8  Ive beaten a few V8's old and new ones too. and my XR is stock.

EF XR8 has only 5kw more than its XR6 equivalent, but the XR6 weighs less. I believe these two cars were tested at calder park both around the track and the 1/4 mile and the XR6 had quicker times in both.

So which would be better between the I6 and the V8 if you were only to mod them as NA and no turbos or superchargers or NOS etc. I reckon the V8 has more potential.

Yes the V8 would come out better once it starts getting into the more serious mods, as the I6 cannot have as much upgaded as a V8 or atleast i think thats the case. :?

Correct me if im wrong.

The thicker the wallet the more possibilities :)

EF has a meaner front end but as every one else stated the body kit isn't to sharp and agressive, id go for the EF with the left over money body kit, wheels and a few perfomance mods would go into it.

there probably is more potential in the 8, but will cost quite a few bucks get surpass the 6. where as with the six there are several workshops which specialise in kits etc and without spending too much at all.

EF front end looks much better than the EL in my opinion, and all you need to "toughen" up the body kit is new side skirts. Also the orange indicators in the tail lights on the EL's look f**k compared to the clear ones, thats why they put the clear ones on the EL Fairmonts.

EL XR = great looking car

EF XR = Tougher looking car.

Dont get me wrong - EL looks hot. But I rekon the EF has a more aggressive look to it.

Although, the interior of the EL is much nicer + wheels and bodykit are better.....

Tough choice.....

I think there’s basically nothing between them, when i first started looking for my XR6 i wanted an EL but ef/el xr's are just so hard to find in manual with low km's and excellent condition so when my 96 EF2 XR6 came on the market i immediately went over and looked at it and have never looked back since! I agree with adz the EF do look tough but EL are just as nice, heres mine....
