Just before christmas I was quoted $88 to remove both tanks clean out core and reassemble with new seals.
That was Frankston Radiators.

yer just as a guess but...did your heard warp due to the over heating and you simply didnt notice...if this is even a possibility id be looking at a blockage somewhere...i.e. thermostat or POSSIBLY you have got something in a water jacket in the head and hence blocking it...just a guess

nah block was fine was machine before i put it back on. All was checked and was in great condition, just had a external leak at cylinder 4-5 area. Well i came to the conclusion silly me got all gasket in the cooling channels and stuffed the radiator. When car was taken into radiator place the radiator internals were stuffed anyway.
So charged me 220 for new radiator flush coolant etc. |

yeah great runs a lot cooler than i can remember. Also we had our tranny rebuild and an external tranny cooler installed. Would changing the oil feed back to the radiator system be better??

The tranny cooler lines should go through both the radiator and the external cooler.

well the tranny cooler in my old radiator was stuffed thats why the external one was put in place. Should i bother anymore? or not worth the hassle?

Do you do a lot of towing? If not I wouldn't worry about it.

i was thinking of putting the tranny cooler on my other car as it struggles sometimes in the heat, and putting the oil lines back to the radiator?
Good idea? or how much is a tranny cooler? |

I can't remember what I paid last time I bought one. However they are well worth it. It will look after you tranny by stopping the fluid burning. The Tranny fluid in my car stays red between services which is every 12 months.
