I read the safety tip post, but there was no tips for 1st timers at the drags
things like, there is high grip on the start line - so dont drop clucthes - my mate found this out the hard way and practice to get a good reaction time any more would be great, thanks

there is a wet patch. if you go through it make sure to spin the wheels just a little or you'll end up with a light coating of water on the tyres. or if you dont even wanna spin the wheels, go around it.
use good grippy tyres, don't throw on some crappy 185's cause you wont launch it even if you lower the tyre pressure. personally, i dont dump the clutch off the line, but some do to get an extra 1/10 of a second. the main tip is to take off on the last yellow light (hard to master) cause you'll get a better reaction time. run too quick and you'll red light it. the perfect reaction time is 0.400, and i think i've gotten 0.460 before. as i said, it's hard to master but with practice (and stuff-ups) you'll get the hang of it.
