Just wondering if the entry pipe for the fuel rail is ment to have such a kink or has mine been bent somehow?
The red circle is the kink in the metal tube, the blue circle is the mount for the fuel rail and the nut for the fuel line, there sitting right next to each other - no space between them at all, is this normal?

no, return line is fitted to the fuel pressure regulator that you can see behind it...

No, its not supposed to have a kink.

I have $10 on that someone tried to undo that nut without using a second spanner to hold the rail part. They've pulled and its gone bend.

Weren't having any fuel starvation issues anywhere along the way?

Well this could be the answer to all my problems!
Firstly why my fuel pump died in a year with less than 1,000km's of actual use on it!
Why after the car had been running for a while it wouldn't rev up, was sucking in air, but obviously no fuel.
This is been going on for over a year, good to finally some answers.

You know how it prolly got kinked, me, tim and a good mate changed the head last Christmas, when doing it, we changed the injectors (and fitted Vaporate) and the fuel pressure regulator (to Tickford spec one).

Ah well, I was planning to replace the fuel rail anyways with an AU one.

Id say blame Tim... He's not here to defend himself, so it makes him a prime candidate.

Those nuts are on bloody tight, and that part of the rail is bloody soft and easily bent. You have to take realy good care undoing that nut at all times. Support the fuel rail side as well.

But yes, it would probably fried the pump from excess pressure, and it wouldnt have been filling the rail properly.

O yes, it definately was Tims fault, no doubt about that at all! :-)

I don't remember us undoing that hose though, but maybe we did so we could move the fuel rail to get to the reg, I dunno.

Just e-mailed FTG about AU rail now, hopefully get it sorted, and with the barb fitting on the AU rail I won't have this trouble again! :-)

Oh.. it was undone.. It looks to me like there is marks from the spanner on the lower part of the nut.

But then again, that bend is really F**k weak. Maybe it was pushed in the wrong direction causing the kink.

But all that gets blown out of the water if we blame Tim. :D
