Hey Guys
I have a ED Futura, and the odo and the trip meter have died, i replaced the dash unit and still nothing..... I also have replaced the speedo sender. and again nothing.... Does any one have any ideas as to what the problem is??? its driving me nuts.... Cheers

Did you replace the inst. cluster with one that you know works????
They are very common to sh!t themselves, goes back to XD days.

Did you see it work??? He might be talking about the rest of the stuff on it, like fuel guage, temp guage, etc....
Go and get it checked properly. at a VDO repair joint.

hi
i just fixed my odo today twice! its usually the little gear on the side of the the speedo mine stoped this morning but luckily i know they f**k up and last time it stopped i went to the wreckers and pulled apart atleast 5 speedos and only got 3 sets of gears that were good.. anyway pulled my cluster out pulled the speedo apart and as usual there was 2 teeth missing on the gear . i changed the gear put it back together went for a drive and 1.2 km down the road it stopped again...f**k!!! so back home and changed it again ... this time its all good....... |

The OE speedo gears are crap. The guys at VDO make replacement ones that are far better. This problem has been around since the XD.
