ok ive stuffed the clutch in my xr and i was thinkin of puttin a heavy duty clutch cos im gonna put some more power through the engine soon. ive heard of some issues with these clutches with the firewall having to be strengthened... i know the xr come out with a heavier clutch than standard but i was wondering of any issues people have had with puttin heavier clutches in. im lookin at an Exeedy Heavy Duty Clutch kit (the normal one) just for interest sake

my firewall broke with the standard XR clutch, the firewall is just weak,if you can weld or know someone who can you can weld a reinforcement there to stop it happening.

I have a heavy duty clutch and no cracks in the firewall. The cracks usually happen from incorrectly adjusted clutch cables. Same goes for the clutch pedal pivot pin.

i have a extra hvy duty 5 puk ceramic extreme clutch in my el xr6 and it gives unbeatable bite but its the worst thing i have driven in traffic, not to mention i have had it in 2 months and my diff has started to make big clunking noises/ massive backlash sinse i put it in so i dont advise it, awesome for drag racing though
