New cam installed with different firing order. Engine runs fine but was wondering whether somebody could tell me whether injectors pulse on the inlet valve opening using original firing order or pulse continuously.
Do I need to rewire injectors to pulse with the new firing order ? Sorry if my terminolgy is a** about but you know what I mean. Thanx |

well i dont think you can change the firing order unless you have a after market management computer like a wolf3d or ems in it ,you shouldnt need to rewire anything when putting in a cam ,i never did and it ran fine

Thats my question I guess. My new cam has a different firing order than the previous. (I dont know how but it does). It runs fine no probs but if the injectors are set to pulse with a certain firing order, than I guess the fuel will pulse and sit in chamber untill inlet valve opens and so on. Not very efficient. dont mean to get to carried away with the thought of it all. |

With the std SEFI, the injector firing order is 1,3,7,2,6,5,4,8. Each injector fires once every 2 crank rotations in std operation - during cranking, they all fire with the PIP - i.e. each fires 4 times per crank revolution.

Thankyou for information and the firing order is the same as the one I have now so all good. However I thought the standard firing order was 1 5 4 2 6 3 7 8, the previous cam must had been wired different. I dont have crank sensor and coil packs on my 5.0ltr, so is information still relevent? cheers mick |

I changed cams aswell and my engine builder said it now has 351 firing order, when running it in i was getting around 150k's to the tank, now wondering if i have the same prob with injector pulse sequence aswell, cars getting dynoed at the minute so i soon know if this improves, bloody better.
