The only place I would recommend is All Head Services in Braeside.

Yeh I picked up a deawoo head from all head services.
Must say the advice was great, Owner was honest, Price was excellent. (even went there after Many people told me they were crap) They get the approval from me. Dunno about their i6 idea with the 'drilling into the water gallery @ no 6' to get coolant flowing, but atleast it was a try! another place I know thats good is.... McCurdy Ron Engine Reconditioners in Bayswater. (somehow teamed up with crankshaft rebuilders)

All head services have a 2 year warranty on their heads, your mate should have taken it back. Quite simple really, the idea isn't to get coolant flowing. Its to allow any air trapped in the back of the head to return to the header tank. As the I6 has one of these hoses at both the thermostat housing and top of the radiator, adding another one to the back of the head is a good idea.
