The CLutch Cables on my XF (5 speed, not T5) keeps on melting and I seem to buy new ones every 6 months or so, someone suggest heat wrap tape around the extractors, someone else suggest a heat shield..
Would either of these work ok? |

If the tape says it is rated for that kind of temp it couldnt hurt but the cable may still wear through the tape, back to square 1. Id be looking at a heat shield and/or some metal flexible conduit or s/s braid to go over that section of the cable.

Fit a heat shield over the extractors for a start. With a bit of pushing and bending the factory from the manifold fit over EF extractors, might be able to do likewise with the XF, or make your own up.
Exhaust wrap isn't a bad option either. Heat tape on the cable. |

Pacemaker's warranty is void when their extractors are wrapped in heat tape, its on the warranty form with the extractors.

go to the wreckers and grab a stuffed n13 pulsar high pressure air con hose. they have a tin foil conduit heat wrap with a rubber core.
i cut the wrap off, wrapped the clutch cable and used hose clamps to secure it. works a charm
