There are 2 there, I dont have 2 fuel pumps...

I have read that one is fuel, the other (this one which is buzzing in direct relation to my BEM/Fan/Smartlock/ECU issue) should be the ECU relay.

A dodgy fuel relay wont be causing all this grief.

EDIT: Both relays there in my EF are the same colour.

EDIT2: Actually, I remembered I'm colourblind between green and brown (a red colour defficiency the doctors call it) so I'll go drag my wife to the garage to confirm that for me.
A simple way to test the fuel relay and ECU relay is to earth the top RH pin of the diagnosis connector and turn IGN on.
If the fuel pump runs continuously, then both relays are fine.

Hey everyone, thankyou for your feedback. I appreciate it a lot. That is what makes forums such as this great to be a part of.

The actual fault is now resolved, the auto electricians found the ECU relay (not the one which was found to be buzzing) was the culprit. It was grounding itself to the earth wire causing all my voltage drop related problems. Replacement from ford cost about $80, and now its running like a dream again.

I have heard it said in other threads, but the truth is really in the words "Check your relays first!".

Wiring and plug-harnesses may wear and chafe over time, but dont forget that a relay is a moving part also, which is more likely fail. As switches like this control the entire electrical circuit, ensuring they work faultlessly is essential before delving into the more obscure troubleshooting.
